A Greener Way of Life
The New Zealand Building Council offers Homestar and Greenstar – a certification standard that allows designers, architects, and builders across the residential and commercial sector to look ahead, ensuring better futures for our whānau to live, work and play. The certification framework works toward the following:
• Reducing the impact of climate change
• Enhancing our health and quality of life
• Restoring and protecting our planet's biodiversity and ecosystems
• Driving resiliency in buildings, fitouts and communities
• Contributing to market transformation and a sustainable economy
Apolon has contributed to projects that have been awarded the highest rating for holistic sustainability, achieving both Homestar and Greenstar by New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC).
Green Star
Apolon was involved in the ‘One Queen’ building project transforming the HSBC building to a new vertical mixed-use community space. This was designed and built intentionally, reducing our carbon footprint in turn improving the health and wellbeing of all New Zealanders. It has been noted by NZGBC as one of Tāmaki Makaurau’s most innovative sustainable buildings.

Apolon is a proud Eco Decorator member with Resene
Sustainable decorating is more than just choosing an environmental choice approved paint. It is about making sure the paint is applied in an environmentally responsible manner following sustainable principles.
By choosing the services with Apolon for your projects, you will have the confidence that only sustainable principles are used in our work processes.
At Apolon we use sustainable products and are proud members of the Resene Eco Decorator Community. We are environmentally responsible, quality focused painting contractors. To ensure this we undergo regular assessment by the Resene Eco. Decorator programme, which includes assessments of principles in practice, sustainable work practices, waste management, project plans and project sign off processes. At Apolon we continue to successfully meet these standards. For every Resene product used we currently donate to “Trees that count” which plants thousands of native trees across Aotearoa with the goal of regenerating our native bush.
